About Motörhead
An English rock band formed in June 1975 by bassist, vocalist, and songwriter Ian Fraser “Lemmy” Kilmister. The Grammy‑winning legends Motörhead quickly rose to prominence within the British punk and heavy metal scenes.

Motörhead never compromised or changed their unique, ferocious sound, and it is this authenticity that turned the band, the music, and the attitude into a lifestyle for many — whether rockers, punks, or alternative fans.

With several songs, including “Ace Of Spades”, still topping international charts, and with their outspoken influence on some of the world’s biggest rock bands, Motörhead has consistently been not only “musicians’ musicians” but standard‑bearers for the very best in rock ’n’ roll. This is still reflected in global chart success, with the band reaching number one on the UK Official Rock & Metal Albums Chart in 2025.

Motörhead is ranked number 26 on VH1’s list of the 100 Greatest Hard Rock Artists and has released 22 studio albums, 13 live albums, 12 compilation albums, and four EPs. The Motörhead legacy (and lifestyle) continues to thrive through the music and its loyal fans, with the band nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
